About Lady Agnes de Haverington
Additional curator notes: Older texts spell the surname Cancefield but more recently published texts spell it Cansfield. Later generations also spell their name as Cansfield. I can find no confirmation that she received the title Baroness either before or during her marriage, and have removed the title from her profile. If someone has a document showing the title, I will happily add it back in. Her husband was a knight and a small "l" lord, as was her father. It was her son John who was a baron. In addition, there is dispute about her mother. Did Sir Richard Cancefield marry Alice le Fleming or Eleanor Fleming or are these two women the same? Maria Edmonds-Zediker, curator, 02/28/2011
