Katherine Stapleton

Inquisitions Post Mortem for Katherine, late the wife of Richard Harecourt, knt., Writ 24 Oct. 4 Hen. VII [1488]. She died 14 Oct. [1488]. Elizabeth the wife of William Chalthorpe, knt., aged 30, and Joan the wife of William Hudulston, esq., aged 26 and more, are her daughters and heirs. In Katherine's 1494 IPM her daughters Elizabeth and Joan are recorded as aged 50 and more and 48 and more respectively. These ages seem to be more accurate.

Notes

Katherine de la Pole, born about 1416 was the daughter of Thomas de la Pole (son of Michael de la Pole and Katherine Wingfield) and Anne Cheney (dau. of Nicholas Cheney). Katherine de la Pole married 1st Sir Miles Stapleton as his 2nd wife, 2nd she married Sir Richard Harcourt. She died Oct. 1488, had child Elizabeth Stapleton in 1441.
