About Juan Garcés Rodríguez de Maluenda

The "Truchas" lineage of Catalonia are the same as the Astruc/Astruch lineage as affirmed by the sources below. The Astruc/Astruch are descendants of Astruc Bonseyor or Abba Mari "Don Astruc" which descend from the Halevi-Benveniste lineage.

Prior to 1563, the Maluenda burials were carried out in the churches of San Nicolás de Bari, San Lorenzo and San Gil.

In December 1563, the friars of the church of the Convent of San Pablo ceded the Chapel of the "Eleven Thousand Virgins" to the brothers Francisco Maluenda and Andrés de Maluenda (disappeared) so that individuals whom the new patrons deemed appropriate could receive burial. The Brizuela family inherited the patronage rights over the chapel and kept them until the convent of San Pablo disappeared.

In the center of the chapel was placed the sepulcher of Juan Francisco de Maluenda and Margarita Alonso de Maluenda, which was decorated with marbles, the tomb of Andrés de Maluenda and Isabel de la Torre, Antonio de Maluenda, abbot of San Millán, and that of Melchor de Brizuela y Maluenda, descendant of the Maluenda family. Pedro de Maluenda, doctor in Sacred Theology and chaplain of Carlos I of Spain, who also attended the Council of Trent, was also buried in this chapel in 1562
