" In the name of god amen I Joseph Hale being in a low state of health but in Perfect memory do appoint constitute and ordain this to be my last will and Testament in the manner following that is to say, I will that all my Just Debts be paid out of my personal Estate, and next I will and bequeath to my loving wife Rachel HALE the use of my whole land and Plantation in [no >location appears, nor is space left for one] during her life and also all my household furniture and also all my stock and also next I will to my son Thomas HALE five Shillings and next I will to my son Joseph HALE five Shillings next I will to my Daughter Mary HUFF five Shillings next I will to my son Richard HALE five Shillings next I will to my son John HALE five Shillings and next I will to my Daughter Rachel Parker five Shillings and next I will to my son Peter HALE five Shillings and next I will to my Daughter Sally TITTLE five Shillings and next I will to my Daughter Elizabeth HALE five Shillings and next I will to my Daughter Nancy HALE five pounds, and next I will to my son Benjamin HALE all my land after his mothers Death next I will to my Daughter Kezia HALE five pounds "My trusty friend Charles FOSTER and my wife Rachel HALE in (?) this my last will and Testament my lawfull Exator (sic) as witness my hand and seal this December 81(perhaps 18, or 31?) in the year 1798.
