John & Mary (Madden) West were married in 1725 in Greenville, Orange Co., NC.

Children of John & Mary (Madden) West: Solomon (c. 1726 - 1830); John (1728 - ); Alexander (1730 - ); Female (1734 - ) who married Mr. (James?) Collins; Female (1738 - ) who married Mr. Cole; Mary (1742 - ) who married Hezekiah Collins; Isaac (1745 - 1814); and Eleanor (1748 - ) who married Alexander Barnhill..

John served as Constable in Orange Co., NC/SC, being appointed to that position in March, 1753.

In October, 1754 John was granted a license to keep an "ordinary" (an inn) in his home.

On August 2, 1768 John sold property to his son Isaac's father-in-law Peter Anderson.

On October 14, 1774 John bought property on a branch of King's Creek in Tryon Co., NC. This purchase encompassed land which was later in York District, SC.
