MEMORIAL PHOTOS 0 FLOWERS 8 John Tenney was born in Great Limber, Lincolnshire, England in April, 1567 and baptised at St. Peter's Church there the same month. His parents were Thomas Tenney & Margaret Wood. He married Ursula Mumby at All Saints Church in Brocklesby, Lincolnshire on October 29, 1599. He was a church warden at Great Limber several years between 1595 and 1614. On March 9, 1601/2 he was appointed administrator of the estate of his sister, Alice Tenney. "Witness my hand: John Tenney's mark. Witness: Thomas Barcroft." John & Ursula lived in Great Limber where John was a farmer, or husbandman. John & Ursula had seven children. Following the death of his wife in 1642, John apparently went to live with his son, John in nearby Riby. He died in Riby and was buried in St. Edmund's churchyard there as "John Tennie the elder, husbandman," on October 30, 1644.
