About John Rice, Jr.
The "Horn Papers" are considered to be a historical hoax and contain many falsehoods: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horn_Papers
A better source on the family would be "Pastor Jon Corbly" by Don Corbly (2008).
Sincerely,
A Rice

Yesterday at the Library of VA, I found another source for the Rice's Landing family. It is called "The Horn Papers, Early Westward Movement on the Monongahela and Upper Ohio 1765-1795 by W. F. Horne, published for a C ommittee of the Greene County Historical Socie ty, Waynesburg, PA by the Herald P ress, Scottdale, Pennsylvania, 1945. I cannot vouch for the contents, but thought I would pass the info along in hopes it would help someone.
