John Marteeny was the son of Charles Marteeny (Charles Wilhelm Martini) and Anna Maria "Maryann" Franck. John Marteeny married Barbara Minnig/Minnich. Her son Jacob Marteeny in the 1880 Census gave his mother's birth place as Maryland.John Marteeny died March 31, 1849, in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, age 83-6-7. Wife Barbara died 4-3-1849, age 81-2-18.
