Death

A date and place of death has not been identified for John, Lord Kennedy, here treated. He appears to have been alive on 24 July 1508, the date upon which Sir David Kennedy, Bailie of Carrick, accounted for ten pounds in rent which John, Lord Kennedy, paid for one half of the barony of Trabeauch in the Earldom of Carrick, ER XIII: 41-2 but he died before 23 May 1509, when his son David was retoured as heir to his deceased father in various lands in the Earldom of Carrick, including Trabeauch.     John Kennedy, 2nd Lord Kennedy was born before 12 October 1454.2 He was the son of Gilbert Kennedy of Dunure, 1st Lord Kennedy and Catherine Maxwell.2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Montgomerie, daughter of Alexander Montgomerie, 1st Lord Montgomerie and Margaret Boyd, before 25 March 1460.2 He married, secondly, Lady Elizabeth Gordon, daughter of Alexander Gordon, 1st Earl of Huntly and Elizabeth Crichton, between 24 August 1467 and 12 August 1471.2 He married, thirdly, Elizabeth Kennedy after 1500.2 He died between 24 July 1508 and 13 May 1509.2
