About John Blount
Rather confusingly, Sir John Blount married twice and had a single son, named John Blount with each wife.
At his death, he left two heirs; his 14 year old grandson, also John Blount, the son of his son John from his first wife, Juliana, and John Blount of Deddington, the son of his second wife Isabel.
IMP http://www.inquisitionspostmortem.ac.uk/view/inquisition/26-045/48 for John Blount, Deddington, Esq
John Blount, senior, Knt John Blount, knight , was lately seised of the following in demesne as of fee.... He married Juliana, and had issue by her: John. After Juliana’s death he married Isabel, and had issue by her: John Blount of Deddington. He died seised of such estate of the above, which after his death were taken into the present king’s hand, where they remained until they were delivered to John Blount of Deddington, at his suit, ... to John Blount, knight , and Isabel his wife, and the heirs of their bodies, with remainder to the right heirs of John. As a result they were seised in demesne as of fee tail, and at his death John Blount, knight , held the messuage, etc.,... John and Isabel and the heirs of their bodies between them, so that they were seised in demesne as of fee tail. They had issue: John Blount of Deddington, then surviving, aged thirty and more. At his death John Blount, knight , held the messuages, etc., in demesne as of fee tail in the said form of the abbot of Rocester , service unknown. He died on 4 April 1425, and John Blount of Deddington was his next heir by virtue of the entail. In fact Thomas and William never had any estate in the above or any parcel thereof, nor did they grant the above or any parcel thereof to John and Isabel and the heirs of their bodies, as the inquisition found. John Blount of Deddington therefore died seised in demesne as of fee of all the above. He died on 2 May last. Henry [sic should be Humphrey.Other IPM have Humphrey ] Blount is his son and next heir, aged 20 and more. John Blount , the son of John, the son of John Blount, knight and Juliana his first wife, is the kin and next heir of John Blount, knight , aged 30 and more. https://www.historyofparliamentonline.org/volume/1386-1421/member/b... Blount died on 4 Apr. 1425. His lands in Worcestershire were left in trust to his 14-year-old grandson John (the child of his son John by his first wife), while those in Staffordshire passed to another son named John (aged 30), the issue of his marriage to Isabel Cornwall. (The latter John Blount died in 1443 leaving a son Humphrey, who subsequently inherited the extensive Cornwall estates in Shropshire and elsewhere.)5
This John Blount [1377 - bef 1425, son of Sir John Blount & Julian Foulherst ] rather confusingly has a half brother also named John Blount [1395 - 2 May 1442], also son of Sir John Blount, but with his second wife, Isabel Cornewall.
When Sir John Blount died in 1425, this John Blount had already died, leaving a heir, also named John Blount who was then aged 14.
