"As Mrs Eliot was alive when Abigail, the widow of Michael Powell, wrote her will in 1677, we may reasonably assume that she (Mary Powell, widow of William Wilcox, wife of Jacob Eliot) and her sister Mrs Dwight (Sarah Powell, 2nd wife of Timothy Dwight) were omitted from it because they were children of Michael Powell by an earlier wife."
