Jessica Simpson is an American singer, actor, fashion designer, and author.

Genealogy

Simpson's ethnic background is primarily English. She also has Scottish ancestry and, more distantly (in the 1600s), German and Swiss-German ancestry.

Before arriving in Texas in the 1800s, Simpson's ancestors lived in other parts of the U.S. South, particularly South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, and Alabama. She is at least a sixth-generation Texan.

In 2009, Simpson states through a representative that she is 1/16th Native American on her mother's side. Genealogists have not been able to confirm this through records.
