About Jeremiah Burnette, {Fictional}
According to research by Mary Nell Burnett, this Jeremiah Burnett did not exist for numerous reasons as detailed in the attached PDF file and the Wikitree profile https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Burnett-343
1. No proof of parentage (not named in will of John Burnett, II (Excuse that he was born after death, but no mention or provision.)
2. Wives Rebecca Burnette and Mary Burnette are conflated with other marriages to other people and locations do not make sense.
3. Although some of the "sons" appear related through DNA with a common ancestor, it is not in any of the established Burnett lines that descend from John I and Leticia studies in the Family Tree DNA Burnett project. See chart FTDNA Burnett YDNA Project
4. Cannot have served in the Revolutionary War if he died in 1773. DAR has flagged the application for future applicants.
5. Additional items noted in the research of Mary Nell Burnett.
Recommendation is that children be detached from this profile (many are not even DNA matches to each other and need sorting according to the Burnett DNA project and wives be detached from Jeremiah). The wives need to be matched to correct spouses if possible. Consultation with the Burnett genealogists and DNA specialists will need to be on-going. Additional recommendation by this researcher is that a Burnett Family project be started as an umbrella for the 10+ DNA lines that exist. SF

I was looking at some bio’s on find a grave and came across the one for 1718 Jeremiah. There is strong, convincing genetic evidence 1718 Jeremiah Burnett married a daughter of Richard Gatewood, brother to Amy Gatewood, 1718 Jeremiah’s mother. In short, he married his first cousin. This evidence is much stronger than a supposed guess that he married a woman by the name of Mary McDaniel. If ever you happen to run across someone looking for a spouse of 1718 Jeremiah Burnett in a genetic sense, remind them of this email.
