About James McIlvain

James McIlvain married Frances Mills in about 1723. Their children included sons John, David, Robert, Andrew and James, and daughters Mary, Frances and Prudence.

James was a Member of the Assembly of the Three Lower Counties upon the Delaware in 1745,1746 and 1747.

He moved from the tract of land his father Andrew Mcllvain purchased in 1719 to the Coolspring Plantation, which he purchased in 1750.
