OBITUARY.
THE. LATE MR. JAMES McCOURT.
Another old pioneer has passed away in
the person of Mr. McCourt. Mr. James
McCourt was born at Down Patrick,
Ireland, and emigrated to this colony in
the year 1842 — in the ship Trustee.
Amongst the few who survive him are Mr.
William Forrest, Leschenault, and Mr. W.
Spencer. M.L.C. The deceased first settled
in Australind under the W. A . Company, but
shortly afterwards he looked for fresh
fields for his labours, and finally settled
down at Fatfield, now the residence of Mr.
J. H. Forrest, J.P. In 1862, Mr. McCourt
married Miss Murphy, a sister-in-law of
Mr. Peter Gibbons, for many years a resi-
dent of Bunbury. The deceased, who died
at the ripe old age of 85, leaves a daughter
and widow to mourn their loss

Intelligence is to hand of the death on
Monday last of Mr. James MeConrt, of
Minninup, at the advanced age of 85 years.
Mr. McCourt arrived in the colony on the
ship Trustee in 1842, settling in Australind. '
The late Mr. McCourt was an energetic
colonist and was highly esteemed by those
among whom he lived.
