About James Blevin
See the WikiTree link (Blevin-32) for detailed research notes on James and his family.
From that reference:
Some online genealogies, without source, identify his parents as John Blethen and Jane Marks/Markes/Lemarcom of Salem in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. There is no known evidence to support this claim, and the children of John Blethen identified in his 1704 will do not include a James. Oyster Bay was a refuge for many Quakers and John Blethen of Salem was persecuted for his Quaker beliefs. Given the similar name, geographic proximity, and possible religious connection, it is possible that this James Blevins was a nephew or cousin of the John Blethen of Salem, but unlikely that he was his son.
