About Iris Schumer
Iris Weinshall is a vice chancellor at the City University of New York and a former commissioner of the New York City Department of Transportation.
Weinshall was appointed commissioner by then-Mayor Rudy Giuliani on September 8, 2000 and left the post on April 13, 2007.
She is married to New York Senator Chuck Schumer. They have two daughters and live in Brooklyn, New York.
