1220 November Hildegarde, lady of Mellene (= Melle) declares
to have increased, with the consent of her husband and sons, the endowment of the churches of Rode (Gontrode) and Bottelaere, of which the abbess of St. Peter's in Ghent had formed 2 different parishes (Wauters, Chronological Table, III 540).
1220 Hildegarde, lady of Melle, is again mentioned in a charter (Ibid., III 544).
1224 March Hildegarde, lady of Melle widow of Gerard, lord of Rhodes, exempts the abbey of Ninove from the obligation to remove the tonlieu which she levied in Brabant. Brügge in Ghent (Ibid., III, 610.)
