About Guillermo Coppola

He was born in the Constitución neighborhood of the city of Buenos Aires on October 12, 1948. His father was a truck driver and his mother an amateur cosmetologist. His childhood and adolescence saw him work as a seller of oranges and tangerines in a cart and, later, as an "errand boy" in a pharmacy. Meanwhile, he attended the Juan de Garay school in La Boca. At the age of 15, he entered the then Banco Italiano as a cadet. At 20, he moved to the Banco Federal Argentino. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the UCA thanks to a scholarship granted by his bosses, and became Departmental Manager of the same institution that sponsored his university studies. He worked as an agent for more than two hundred soccer players. In the mid-80s he decided to definitively leave his job as a bank manager to fully dedicate himself to the representation of soccer players. Among his 183 clients were Vicente Pernía, Nery Pumpido, Alberto Tarantini, Reinaldo Merlo, Mario Kempes, Hugo Gatti, Oscar Ruggeri and Diego Maradona.
