1252 August 13 Gerard, lord of Berleghem, promises to sell to the abbey of St. Bavon the avouerie of Houthem-St. Liévin, which he held in fief from the knight Gerard of Rhodes (Wauters, A., Chronological Table, V , 39).
1252 September 18 Guy, count of Flanders, charges his bailiff of
Terwuonde to receive the transfer of the said avouerie to the abbey of St. Bavon by Gerard de Berleghem, who held this property in fief from Gerard de Rhodes, and by the latter, who held it in fief from Guy (Ibid., V,41).
