About Fergus mac Feradaig Ui Eremoin, Righ Caledonii
According to A General History of Scotland, written in 1767, Fergus was born in Ireland and sent for by the Scythians and Caledonians to assist them in defense from the Britons, which were led by Coilus. Fergus and the Sythians fought a battle in approximately 330 BC in which Coilus was defeated and killed. The victory gave Fergus sovereignty of the Scots and Picts, but he was recalled to Ireland and drowned at Carrickfergus on his return. He left two sons, Maine and Ferleg, in Scotland, but they were young when he left, so his brother Ferithar became ruler. The circumstances of his brother's arrival in Scythia are unclear, and it is unclear to me at present who their father was. Ferithar is not currently in the tree and will be added when I figure out who Fergus's parents were.
