Family history says John Maddox m. 10 Jun 1757 Elisabeth Jenifer; one family history says her first husband was David Stone. David Stone was m. to Elizabeth Jenifer, d/o Dr. Daniel Jenifer, from ca 1739 to his death in 1773 according to Harry Wright Newman in The Stones of Poynton Manor. Estate records prove John Maddox's wife's name was Elizabeth, but nothing was found to verify her maiden name.

Marriage 1: 1739 or 1742, Marriage 2: 1757 (from various).
