Elizabeth Darcy was the daughter of John, Lord Darcy of Chiche (England).[1] and his wife Frances Rich.

Her birth date is uncertain. It was likely 1560-1575, based on the birth of her father in 1539, birth of brother in 1565, and married by 1594. It is estimated here as 1566 as mid range date.

She was the second wife of John, Baron Lumley. The date of marriage is not known, but she is mentioned as his wife "my Bess" in letters from John Lumley to Sir Richard Cecil dated 15 March 1593/94, 21 Sept 1594 and 30 Aug 1597. [1]

There are no indications that they had children as John is listed as dying without heirs, and there are records of his estate being sold after he died.[1] .

John Lumley died 11 April 1609, aged 76, without any surviving children. At his death the Barony of Lumley (created 1547) became extinct.

Elizabeth survived her husband by 10 years and was buried 4 February 1616/7 at Cheam.
