Edward is said by some, to have been half Cherokee Indian. If that were true, one of his parents would have had to have been full-blood.

Research Notes
See the Find-A-Grave link below for photographs of a Ned Sizemore and an Owen Sizemore (who may or may not be this Ned Sizemore as photography was not in common use until far later).: The Find-a-Grave memorials, for at least his parents, are highly unreliable and conflating multiple people in one memorial. Use with caution.
One source shows him having a brother named Owen and another brother Reverend George J. Sizemore: That source is likely confusing him with another George Sizemore family in North Carolina (not Kentucky).
The Find-A-Grave memorial appears to have conflated two Edwards; it has Edward married to Annie B. Baldwin 1786 – and a son Owen O. Sizemore 1829 – 1902. This appears to be for a different Edward Sizemore.
It also has spouse Martha Patty Fields 1782 – wit a child Isaac Newton Sizemore 1808 –
And a spouse Lucinda Louannah Bolling (Bowling) 1780 – 1820 with children: Ephraim Sizemore – 1858; Elizabeth Sizemore 1798 – ; William Sizemore 1798 – Lewis Sizemore 1799 – ; Winnie Sizemore 1801 – ; Henry Sizemore 1803 – 1850; Edward 'Slim Red' Sizemore 1804 – ; George Washington Sizemore 1805 – 1915Nancy Sizemore 1806 – ; Susan 'Suz Anne' Sizemore 1807 – ; Sarah 'White Sally' Sizemore 1810 – ; Christopher 'Kit' Sizemore 1815 – ;Sylvania Sizemore 1816 –
Warning: Don Greene has included the Sizemore family in his highly fictional Shawnee Heritage Series,in particular, here. Use with high caution.
