Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Belle Nolen, 95, of New Site, will be Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hillabee Baptist Church. Rev. Bobby Anderson, Rev. Vince Lee and Randy Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:30-1:30 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nolen passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Chapman Healthcare Center, She was born on January 17, 1914 in Tallapoosa Co., AL to Zacharish Edgar Veazey and Martha Thomas Veazey. She was an active member of Hillabee Baptist Church. She was always doing for others, whether she was cooking or crocheting baby booties. She loved flower gardening and singing. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to the Holy Land.
She is survived by her daughter, Martha N. Haney, New Site; sons, Dan J, Nolen (Anne), Clayton , GA and Richard H. Nolen, Midway, KY; grandchildren, Marty Inman, Melanie Conkle, Dannette Farmer, Paige Nolen, Shane Nolen, and Austin Nolen; great-grandchildren, Bevin Dorough, Bethany Inman, Danielle Conkle, Kraig Conkle, Justin Bray, Jesse Hines, Cassie Hines, Cory Young and Addison Nolen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Herbert Nolen; sisters, Claudie Jackson, Jewel Adams; brothers, Henry Grady Veazey, Fare Veazey, John L. Veazey, Troy Veazey and Daniel P. Veazey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hillabee Baptist Church, 1781 Hialeah Circle, Alexander City, AL 35010.
