Yes, RLB, as a matter of fact, I belong to your Byrd family! I am also related to the lineages of "phoenix" and of "ThroneAdmin". Did I luck out or what?!

I know that my line goes back to John Byrd (of England) who married Mary Wheeler.

Their son John married Rebecca Peterson (nee Sutton) in Perquimans Co, NC, ca 1697.

The son of John Jr. and Rebecca Sutton Peterson was Richard Byrd Sr. who married Mary O'Dyer.

The son of Richard Byrd Sr. and Mary O'Dyer was Richard Byrd (Revolutionary War veteran) who married (probably) Elizabeth Sparkman. This Richard died in NC in 1818.

The son of Richard and Elizabeth was Edward Byrd (b ca 1755) who married Sarah Miller.

The son of Edward and Sarah was Daniel Brown Byrd (1800-1887) who married Esther Aldridge, born in December 1805 (not certain of year). Esther came from Lenoir County, NC.

The son of Daniel Brown and Esther Byrd was George Simeon Byrd, b in Harnett Co, NC, ca 1830. George Byrd married Elizabeth Jane Atkinson from Robeson Co, NC--the marriage was ca 1859, shortly before the start of the Civil War.

The son of George Byrd and Elizabeth Atkinson was Agustus (spelling on gravemarker) Atkinson Byrd, b ca 1860 in Bunnlevel, Harnett Co, NC. Agustus (Gus) Byrd married Celestial Ann (aka "Lessie") Henry of New Hanover (now Pender Co), NC.

The daughter of Gus Byrd and Lessie Henry was my maternal grandmother, Eunice Earle Byrd, who was born at Bunnlevel, Harnett Co, NC on 2 December 1895. Around December 1924/25 Eunice married George Winter Futch (b 2 February 1896--died November 1962) in Burgaw, Pender Co, NC. My grandmother Eunice died on 13 February 1991 (still in Burgaw, Pender County) and I miss her greatly!!

I would love to match up with my cousins here!!
