Swaim CORNELIUS, born on Staten Island, the third eldest child and son of Anthony Swaim and Neeltje Jansz.He is shown as 21 on the 1706 Census and we highly suspect that he was older than 21 and more like he was about 23 years of age at that time.That he married c 1703 and migrated to New Jersey settling in the vicinity of Kingston, Fairfield Twp., Somerset Cty.That Cornelius, his wife, and other children for whom we have no record, his son Daniel and his wife, are all buried somewhere in the general area of Kingston, New Jersey.

Cornelius died in 1762 and Letters of Administration for his estate were issued to his son Daniel and an Abraham Hankins.It is contained in Liber 11, page 337. It appears to have been written on a linen type of paper and is pasted into the Liber along with two other documents pertaining to two other individuals on the same page.Due to the age of the records, the Trenton Archives Library would not permit a Xerox copy of it to be made.J. F. Mullane saw the original on 18 Aug 1982 and the following is an exact copy he made of same:

Adm of Cornelius Swine
Be it Remembered that on the Thirty First day of July Anno Domini One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Two 1762 Letters Administration were Granted by his Excellency Joseph Hardy, Esq.Capt General and Governor in Chief of the Colony of New Jersey Unto Daniel Swine & Abraham Hawkins of all and Singular the Goods Chattles and Credits of Cornelius Swine late of the County of Middlesex in East Jersey Deceased Estate to Exhibit a true Account of their administration given under the prerogative Seal of the ad province at Burlington the Day and Year above said.

The above is exactly as it reads and shows the amount of the inventory at the bottom left -- 152 pounds, 10 shillings and 9 pence.The extract copy contained in "New Jersey Wills" stated that the inventory was made on July 31, 1762 by Abel Hankins and Martin
