About Conde de Cea Fernando Bermúdez de León
< Wikipedia > Fernando Bermúdez (died c. 978), the second Count of Cea, was the son of Bermudo Núñez and his wife Argilo.[1][2][a] As the father of a queen of Navarre, and therefore, ancestor of many royal houses, Fernando was a distinguished member of the highest ranks of the nobility of the Kingdom of León.
Marriage and issue
He married Elvira Díaz, daughter of Diego Muñoz, count of Saldaña, and his wife Tregidia.[7][b] They were the parents of:[8]
- Pedro Fernández (died ca. 1028), the third Count of Cea and lacking a male heir, the agnate line of the counts of Cea was extinguished. With his wife, Sancha Muñoz, he had only one daughter named Elvira Pérez.[9]
- Gómez Fernández (died before 978),[9] was the husband of Onecca and father of Countess Onecca Gómez, wife of Count Fortún who was most likely a member of the royal house of Pamplona. He was probably the father of Fernando and Rodrigo Gómez.[9][c]
- Gotina Fernández, the wife of Count Pelayo Rodríguez.[11]
- Jimena Fernández, Queen consort as the wife of King García Sánchez II and mother of King Sancho III of Navarre.[11]
- Justa Fernández, the first wife of Count Flaín Muñoz.[11]
- Elvira Fernández.[11]

Fernando Bermúdez (m. 978), magnate leonés, segundo conde de Cea, fue hijo del conde Bermudo Núñez y de la condesa Argilo. Padre de una reina de Pamplona, estuvo emparentado con la más alta nobleza. Tuvo varios hermanos, entre ellos, la condesa Froiloba Bermúdez, esposa del conde Muño Flaínez, ambos bisabuelos del Cid y tatarabuelos de Jimena Díaz.

Fernão Bermudes foi um fidalgo português, tendo sido conde de Cea, município da Espanha na província de León, comunidade autónoma de Castela e Leão,
Foi filho de Bermudo Nunes, conde de Cea e de sua esposa Argilo de Castela, filha de Gonçalo Fernandez de Lara (880 — 915), conde de Castela e conde de Burgos.
Casou com Elvira Diaz de Saldaña de quem teve:
1) Ximena Fernandez (970 - 1035) casada com Garcia III de Pamplona (958 - 1004), 7º rei de Pamplona.
2) Gontinha Fernandes de Leão (965 -?) casada com Paio Rodrigues de Coimbra (960 - 1005), conde de Coimbra.
Fora o casamento e de uma senhora cujo nome a história não regista teve:
3) Monio Fernandez (970 - ?).
