TCP (Rothes) notes that TSP (Haliburton) shows Christina as dau of the younger Sir Walter by Mary Douglas whilst TSP (Rothes) shows her as dau of the elder Sir Walter by his 2nd wife, Isabel Stewart, "which seems more likely".
The Scots Peerage shows as daughter of the 2nd Walter Haliburton.
5. Christina, married, as his second wife, in 1440, to George, Earl of Rothes. Nineteen years later the Earl raised an action of divorce against his wife on the ostensible ground that they were within the forbidden degrees of consanguinity, but his reasons for so doing are not apparent.
