About Charles Florentin, Wild- und Rheingraf zu Salm

Notes
Karl Florentin zu Salm, Wild and Rheingraf zu Dhaun-Neufville (January 14, 1638 – September 4, 1676 in Pietersheim near Lanaken) was an infantry general and envoy of the Republic of the Seven United Provinces.

Karl Florentin, together with his father, is regarded as the founder of the "Flanders" line or Neufville line of the Salm noble family, known as the "Rheingrafen von Salm". His second son Wilhelm Florentin founded on the basis of the maternal inheritance Hoogstraeten doing the branch "Salm-Hoogstraeten", from which on January 14, 1739 by Charles VI. princely house Salm-Salm emerged. Karl Florentin's third son, Heinrich Gabriel, founded the "Salm-Leuze" branch, from which the House of Salm-Kyrburg, ruled by Charles VII on February 21, 1743, arose.
