About Catherine Ann Priest, Convict "Britanica" 1798
Catherine was transported to Australia as a convict on the Brittania July 1798 - to serve 7 years for theft of a14 yards of silk ribbon. Catherine may have been married at the time of her conviction & also had name of Catherine Coleman. Thomas Priest & Catherine intially did not marry but became defacto's & had children. in 1802, they sailed as settlers to Norfolk Island. They later resettled to Hobart onboard the Porpoise in Jan 1808. They appear to have finally married later in life.
Lived in penal colony on Norfolk Island and Tasmania
