Jacob Hite and Catherine O'Bannon had the following children:
Catherine O'Bannon married Jacob Hite son of Yoist Hite, pioneer Shenandoah Valley settler. Cartmell in his "Shenandoah Valley Pioneers" and repeated in du Beller's "Some Prominent Virginia Families" states that Jacob Hite and Catherine O'Bannon were married in Dublin, Ireland. It is stated that Jacob, who owned an interest in his father's brigantine Swift, had met Catherine on one of his voyages to Ireland. There is some doubt as to the dates of birth of both Catherine (the date of her birth being taken from the records of the late Walter O'Bannon of Tulsa, Ok.) and Jacob Hite. If they were married in Dublin, it is quite possible that at the same time Jacob brought his bride home to Virginia he transported her father, Bryant, and his family. Jacob Hite moved to South Carolina, with his second wife and children, and was massacred by Indians.
