About Casper Cable, Sr
He was a Hessien soldier. German mercenaries who came over to help fight against the colonists. Family rumor is that he was captured by George Washington (maybe after the battle of Trenton) and taken prisoner. He somehow swapped sides and ended up fighting for the Patriots. For his service he was given a land grant in TN,

The cemetery was off of Big Dry Run Road between Andy Bunton Road and the lake. It was in front of the barn just across and down from the Andy Bunton Road in the Dry Hill Community. Casper, Elizabeth and several of their children were buried in a meadow near their home. Name originally Caspar Goebell then changed to Cabel, then finally Cable. Hessian grenadier, captured at Trenton, NJ Dec. 26, 1776. Recaptured by British, then deserted at Johns Island, S.C., June 4, 1779, settled on Dry Run in (now) Johnson Co., Tennessee
