(He represents a direct bloodline of Alexander Deaton Haas & Zachary Deato n Haas. Margaret Goodrum says that he was born ca. 1733 & gives the Bristol Parish, Prince George County as his birth location. She says that he died by May 1804 in Granville County, North Carolina.)
MICHAEL SATTERWHITE was the son of THOMAS SATTERWHITE & "SARAH." He married AMY MITCHELL who was born ca 1756 (see Raleigh Register, 4-8-1804, & Register of County, 1777-1804, Granville County,North Carolina). The parents of AMY MITCHELL were JAMES MITCHELL, a Captain in the Revolutionary War, & AMY DAVIS. JAMES MITCHELL is recorded as selling land in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, in 1767 & buying land in Granville County, North Carolina, in 1767. Evidently they sold Mr. Taylor 1,397 acres of land located on the Roanoke River. On 11/14/1777 MICHAEL SATTERWHITE was appointed "Registrar of Granville, County , North Carolina". THOMAS SATTERWHITE served as his bondsman.
A civil court case was filed against the SATTERWHITES in Granville County, North Carolina, on 3/10/1810 but was continued until 1812 when it was dismissed. This case involved a dispute over the distribution of property formerly belonging to MICHAEL SATTERWHITE (he had died in 1804). Complainants were JAMES, DAVID, & JOSEPH DAVIS & his wife FRANCIS; also FRANCIS WILKERSON & his wife URSULA & ANNE HUNT, a widow; THOMAS DANIEL & his wife ELIZABETH; LOGUITIN P. POOL & his wife MARTHA; JOHN CHILDS & his wife SUSANNA, all of Granville County, North Carolina. Defendants were MITCHELL, STEPHEN & SMITH SATTERWHITE. This was essentially a family dispute. The complainants were all members of the SATTERWHITE Family.
His Father = THOMAS SATTERWHITE who was born on 10/28/1711 in Gloucester County, Virginia; His Mother = SARAH "Unknown" who was born about 1712 in Virginia.
