About Jesse Ball, Gent.
Biography
Jesse Ball, son of Col. James Ball and Mary Conway, was born 27 June 1716 and died 11 August 1747 in Lancaster County, Virginia, where he is buried in the White Chapel Church Yard.
He married first on 10 December 1737 in Lancaster County to Frances Fox, daughter of Samuel Fox and Anne Daingerfield and the widow of Charles Burgess, who had three daughters: Frances, Margaret and Elizabeth Burgess.
On 14 February 1741 at Northumberland County, Jesse Ball married, as her first husband, to Mary Smith, daughter of Philip Smith, of Fleets Bay and his wife Mary Matthews. The widow Mary (Smith) Ball married John Lee, son of Henry Lee and Mary Bland in December, 1749, which confirms Jesse's death before that date. She married third to John Smith of Shooter's Hill.
Jesse Ball had no known children.

"Jesse Ball, an older brother to Jeduthan, married Mary, daughter of J. Philip Smith, who names her in his will of July 11, 1743. She was sister to Baldwin M. Smith, and was married a second time (1749) to Col. John Lee, of Westmoreland. She again married John Smith. Jesse Ball's marriage is usually incorrectly given in the published genealogies of the Balls."
