Biography

Capt. Alexander Magruder, son of Samuel Magruder and Sarah, was born about 1706 in Prince George's County, Maryland and died before 12 Jun 1751 in Frederick County, Maryland, when his estate was probated.

He married Anne Wade about 1723 in Prince George's County, Maryland. She was the daughter of Robert Wade and Elizabeth Sprigg, was born Abt 1708 in Prince George's County, Maryland and died Aft 1752 in Frederick County, Maryland.

Anne Wade and Alexander Magruder had seven children:

  1. Sarah Magruder m. John Clagett and had 13 children
  2. Nathaniel Magruder 1726-1793, m. Elizabeth Offutt
  3. Samuel Wade Magruder 1728-1792, m. Lucy Beall
  4. Hezekiah Magruder 1729-1806, m. Susanna Talbott.
  5. Elinor Magruder d.1800, m. Edward Talbott believed brother of Susanna Talbott
  6. Anne Magruder
  7. Elizabeth Magruder.
