About Capt. Abel Eaton

Abel Eaton was born at Woodstock, Connecticut in 1754, the youngest of thirteen children. In 1769, he went to Concord, New York, and served there as a deacon of the church and captain of the military company. He later removed to Greene County. Between 1776 and 1780, he was absent from home for a considerable period, and it is supposed that he was then on service in the Revolutionary War. Abel Eaton married Ann Azuba Hurd, of Roxbury, and died in Cairo, New York in 1812.
