Disputed Origins, Parents, Spouse and Children
According to The Great Migration Edward Bennett has no wife or children and was not father to John Bennett. John Bennett origins and parents are unknown. (see citation below).
There was a John Bennett who arrived in Connecticut in 1639 according to court records. It has not been proven he is identical to this man. But this man certainly arrived by 1648 and 1649. Robert Charles Anderson suggests these sources:
- The Public Records of the Colony of Connecticut, 1636-1776, 15 volumes (Hartford 1850-1890) 1 :29; 1: 164, 167, 171, 190, 191, 201
- Windsor Hist: Stiles, Henry Reed The History and Genealogies of Ancient Windsor, Connecticut (Hartford, Connecticut, Case, Lockwood & Brainard company, 1891-2) 2:71 I agree, tJohn Bennett is NOT the correct information for my family. This is, but the site will not let me correct it. :
