About Basilio Pica Valdés
Dr. Basilio J. Pica Valdez was a physician trained in the French and US Armies. He held the rank Major General and served as the Chief of Staff of the Philippine Constabulary, Chief of Staff of the Philippine Army, Secretary of National Defense, and Secretary of Public Works. He was the first president of the Philippine Hospital Association and also the president of the Philippine Lawn Tennis Association.
