About Baldwin II, count of Boulogne

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baldwin_II,_Count_of_Boulogne

Baldwin II of Boulogne (ca. 990 - 1027/1033) was a son of Arnulf III, Count of Boulogne, who he succeeded as count of Boulogne from 990- 1027/1033.

During his father's and grandfather'sreigns as Counts, they had freed themselves of Flemish rule during the minority of Baldwin IV, Count of Flanders. Upon becoming Count of Boulogne, Baldwin II found himself at odds with his cousin Baldwin (Baudouin) IV of Flanders over sovereignty issues, and Baldwin IV of Flanders attacked Baldwin II of Boulogne and his brother Arnold of Ternois, who was killed in 1017. Baldwin of Boulogne was killed in 1027/1033 by Enguerrand I of Ponthieu.

He married Adelina of Holland (of Frisia), daughter of Count Arnold of Holland and his wife Lutgardis of Luxemburg, and was the father of Eustace I of Boulogne (995-1049), who succeeded him.

His wife remarried Enguerrand I of Ponthieu (his killer), who took the title of Count.
