A Patriot of the American Revolution for VIRGINIA with the rank of CORPORAL. DAR Ancestor # A067076
He enlisted for the term of 3 years in 1776 in the company commanded by Capt. Ragsdale, Major Holman's Battalion in the regiment commanded by Col. C. Randall in the line of the State of VA.
He was discharged at Little York, VA, where he re-enlisted in the Artillery Co. for 3 years, from 1779 to 1781. He was in the command of Capt. Lewis Booker in the regiment commanded by Col. Charles Harrison in the line of VA.
From VA he marched to White Plains, NJ and was attached to a brigade commanded by Gen. Kenon where he remained until he was discharged in Morristown, NJ.
He was in the Battle of Brandywine and Monmouth Court House and in a skirmish at the place called King's Bridge.
He was a Corporal when discharged. His pension started on 15 Oct 1825 and was $8.00 a month. His will is in Book 1. p. 85, Russell Co. KY.
