• 1923 - Her husbandAlexander Murdo died Aged only (32) from complications of war. He had bad lungs and used to cough up green sputum - probably from mustard gas in the war trenches.
• He is listed on the NZ ROLL OF HONOUR as " Those who died after discharge from the New Zealand Expeditionary Force (NZEF)from wounds inflicted or disease contracted while on active service. Dates are from 01 SEPT 1921 (End of Commonwealth War Graves Commission) to 31 DEC 1923 (End of NZ Roll of Honour)
• It is believed he may have suffered from a heart condition and died young, after returning from war
• He is buried in the Arapohue Cemetery, Kaipara District, Northland, New Zealand
• Arima went on to remarry in. 1926... to Walter Blackstock ( 2 years after Alexander died) and had 3 more children, Audrey, Vivienne, and Walter (Known as Bruce).
• her son Bruce was killed in a motorcyle accident on a country road,( collision with a truck) in 1953..aged just (22)
• Walter died in MAY 1972 aged ( 82)
• She died in. SEPT 1973 only 1year 4 months later. She was 80 .
• She is buried at.....Maunu Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Whangarei , Northland, NZ.
