  • Sir Geoffrey or Jeffery Boleyn (1406–1463) was a London merchant and Lord Mayor.
  • Geoffrey Boleyn was the son of Geoffrey Boleyn (d. 1440) yeoman of Salle, Norfolk, and Alice,[1] and grandson of Thomas Boleyn (d. 1411) of Salle and Anne, an heiress, daughter of Sir John Bracton, a Norfolk knight. He went to London, was apprenticed to a hatter, and became a freeman of the city through the Hatter’s Company in 1428. In 1429 he transferred to a grander livery company, the Mercers’ Company, of which he became master in 1454.[2] As a wealthy mercer he served as a Sheriff of London in 1447, as member of parliament for the city in 1449, as alderman in 1452, and Lord Mayor of London in 1457/8,[3] and was knighted[4] by King Henry VI.[5] He purchased the manor of Blickling in Norfolk from Sir John Fastolf in 1452, and Hever Castle in Kent in 1462.[5] .... etc.
  • Boleyn married Anne Hoo ( 1424 - 1484), the only child of Thomas Hoo, Baron Hoo and Hastings (d. 13 February 1455), by his first wife Elizabeth Wychingham, by whom he had two sons and five daughters:

    • Sir William Boleyn (d.1505), mercer, who married Margaret Butler, daughter and co-heiress of Thomas Butler, 7th Earl of Ormond.[16]
    • Isabella (1434–85) who married Henry Aucher (1410–60).

Lady Anne Hoo (1425-1484) was the daughter of Sir Thomas Hoo, First Baron Hoo and Hastings of Bedford and Hastings, and the wife of Lord Mayor Of London Geoffrey Boleyn. The couple had two children, Sir William Boleyn of Blickening (c. 1449 - 1505) and Lady Anne Boleyn (1475 - 1556). After her husband, Geoffrey's death in 1463 she never remarried.

Through her son William, she was the great grandmother of Henry VIII's second queen, Anne Boleyn, and great-great grandmother of Queen Elizabeth I.

She married before 16 Nov. 1469 (date of grant) WILLIAM BOLEYN, K.B., of Blicking, Norfolk, Hever, Kent, and Offley St. Ledgers, Hertfordshire, younger son of Geoffrey Boleyn, Knt., Citizen and mercer of London, Lord Mayor of London, by Anne, daughter and co-heiress of Thomas Hoo, K.G., Lord Hoo and Hastings [see WELLES 10] He was born about 1451 (aged under 22 on 18 Nov. 1469, aged 36 in 1487). They had six sons, Thomas, K.G., K.B. [Earl of Wiltshire and Ormand], William [Archdeacon of Winchester, Prebendary of St. Paul's], James, Knt., Edward, Knt., John, and Anthony, and five daughers, Margaret, Anne (died young), Anne (wife of John Shelton, Knt.), Alice, and Jane (wife of Philip Calthorpe, Knt.). He was heir in 1471 or 1472 to his older brother Thomas Boleyn. In 1472 he was admitted to Mercers' Company, London, and in 1473 he was admitted to Lincoln's Inn. In 1483 John Howard appointed William his deputy as admiral for the coasts of Norfolk and Suffolk. William was co-heir in 1486 to his uncle, Thomas Hoo, by which he inherited the manor of Offley St. Ledgers, Hertfordshire. SIR WILLIAM BOLEYN left a will proved 27 Nov. 1505 (P.C.C. 40 Holgrave), and was buried in Norwich Cathedral, Norfolk. His widow, Margaret, was a legatee in the 1515 will of her father. On her father's death that year, she inherited the manors of Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire and Fulbourn and Swanesey, Cambridgeshire. In 1538 she and her son, Thomas Boleyn, Earl of Wiltshire and Ormond, sold the manor of Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire to John Baldwin, Knt. She died shortly before 20 March 1539/40. .... etc.
