Robert Chester was born in the City of London, England.

Robert was christened on 02 July 1566 at St Dunstan in the East, London, England. He was the son of Edward Chester and Catherine Granado. [1]

He married Ann Capell on 30 July 1587 in Little Hadham, Hertfordshire. [2]

According to the Visitation of Hertfordshire of 1634, Robert and Ann had the following children in 1634:

  1. Catherin, first daughter, who later married Thomas Nightingale
  2. Alice, second daughter, who later married Edward Radcliff
  3. Theodosia, third daughter, who married Robert Nightingale
  4. Elizabeth, fourth daughter, who married Samuell Hinton
  5. Edward, first son and heir, living in 1634
  6. Frances, daughter, who married John Pigott
  7. Granado, second son, later Rector of Broadwater in Sussex
  8. Robert, third son, later Rector of Stevenage
  9. Henry, fourth son

He passed away about 1640.
