About Ann Kerr
Obituary
On the 4th Inst,, at River Terrace, Brightwater, another old settler passed away in, Mrs Ann Kerr, the relict of the late Mr Peter Kerr who predeceased her about 17 years ago, in her 80th year . She, in. company with, her brother, Mr William Palmer, of Brightwater, and sisters, arrived in Nelson in the ship Olympus in the year 1842, and since then she, and her husband had resided in the vicinity of Brigtwater. where they bore their share of the toils and hardships of the early settlers, greatly respected by who knew her. She has left a family of four sons, three daughters, fifty-eight grandchildren, and fifty-two great-grandchildren.
