- Ann (maybe) Franks (maybe) Unknown Parents
Name may be Ann Franks and was born Abt. 1675 in Rappahannock County, Virginia, and died Aft. 1739 in Orange Co, Virginia.
She married John maybe Daniel Stodgell on Abt. 1690 in Rappahannock County, Virginia, son of maybe John Stodgell
Probably Married her husband John Stodgell here in America.
Died ca 1739-1747 Orange Cty Va. Was alive 1739 Probably buried with her husband who died ca 1705
SPECIAL NOTES Ann appears by name only ONE time, probably not long before her death. As the widow Ann Stodghill, she paid for two tithes on the 1739 Orange Co. VA tithe records. Their property was in the precinct of James Pickett, they had purchased property in 1718 from a William and Sarah Pickett.
RESEARCH NEEDED This Pickett family may be ancestors of Gen Pickett of Gettysburg's Pickett Charge.
There also seems to be some tie in to Robert Armstrong and wife Dorothy who have intermarriage with Sturgills.
SPECIAL NOTES The next available tithe record for the area in 1747 no longer showed a Stodghill name.
The fact she is still the widow Stodghill in 1739, some 45 years after her marriage to John, may indicate that she only married the one time.
Children John James
