ANDREW HARRISON - Died 1752. Married Elizabeth Battaile, daughter of John Battaile and the former Elizabeth Smith. The Battailes and Harrisons were neighbors and close friends. Andrew Xi7as a witness to the v/ill of John Battaile in 1707 and in 1708 became the guardian of Elizabeth x^ho was under age.   1. Charles - Bom 1717. Married Sarah Smithers who was alive in 1753. They lived in St. Thomas Parish, Orange Co., Va., until 1758 and then moved to Pennsylvania. The burial ground of many of these Harrisons is on John Sterling's farm in Green Tovmship. Fayette Co., Pa. Their children:

(A) John - Born Orange Co., Va., in 1754, died Louisville, Ky., in 1821. Lived in Pennsylvania with his father. When in 1776, war broke out, John took his father's gun and joined Capt . John Stevenson's Rifle Regiment. He became a Major and served in the battles of Brandy\i7ine, Germantown and Monmouth. He spoke the Delaware Indian language as V7ell as French and served in Dunmore's Campaign against the Shaxmees. He later went to Kentucky with his cousin, Benjamin, son of Lawrence. There he married Mary Ann Johnston, daughter of Dr. Benjamin Johnston on their estate now known as Cave Hill Cemetery. Five children: (a) Sophia Johnston - Bom 1788. Married Robert A, New. (b) Benjamin Johnston - Bom 1790. Married a Miss Crane. (c) Charles Larkin - Born 1793. Married Ameii'ia Oldham. He was an Ensign in War of 1812. (d) John Pollard) - Born 1796. Became a doctor and married Mary Warner. (e) James - Bora 1799, died 1892. Married (1) Eunice Overstreet, (2) Susan Howard and (3) Virginia CarXlet McGrain.

(B) Elizabeth - Died before 1808. She married William Schooler of Bowling Green, Va., and lived in BrOTmsville, Pa. La'^er they moved to Harrison Co., Ky. Six children: (a) Benjamin - Bom 1780 in Pennsylvania. Lived in Logan Co., Ohio, v;here he died in 1837. Captain in War of 1812. Married three times- one wife was Margaret Jones of Cynthiana, Ky. Twelve children. (b) John - Born 1782 in Pennsylvania. Married Jane Nevjall of Cynthiana, Ky. Moved to Logan Co., Ohio, and then to Montgomery Co., Ind., and finally to Hennej(pin, 111., where he died in 1839. Served in the War of 1812. Two children: Hugh and William Schooler. ( (c) Elizabeth - Bom 1784 in Pennsylvania. Married Lewis Jones of Cynthiana, Ky., in 1801. His estate was settled in Harrison Co., Ky., in 1856. Eight children. (d) William - Born 1790 in Harrison Co., Ky., died Bartholomew Co., Ind. Buried at the Old Homestead granted Harrisons in 1820. Married Elizabeth Stump of Cynthiana, Ky. Eight children. (e) Charles - Married in 1809 Tampa Jones in Cynthiana, Ky., Removed to Logan Co., Ohio. Served in War of 1812. Later moved to Boone Co., Ind. That land still o\<nied by his descendants. Died 1842. Left eight children. (f) Richard - Bom 1791, Harrison Co., Kv., died Burlington, Iowa. Married in 1816 Lear Scott of Cynthiana, Ky

1. Charles - Bom 1717. (Continued) (C) Nicholas - Lived Fayette Co., Pa., and then Cynthiana, Ky. Married in 1796 ,- Isabelle Curry and moved to Logan Co., Ohio. Eight children. (D) Robert - Original lot o\mcv in Cynthiana, Ky. Married Rebecca. They were parents of Cynthia and Ann for whom Cynthiana, Ky., x^7as named. Suqsequently, they moved to Ohio. (E) Sarah. (F) Charles, Jr. - Was surveyor Tax Water Course, Ohio River and Eagle Creek in 1792. 2. Lawrence - Married Catherine who died 1836 in Kentucky. They lived in Orange and Frederick Cos., Va., and Bedford (now Fayette) Co., Pa. Most of their children moved to Kentucky. (A) Catherine - Married Col. Isaac Meason. (B) Benjamin - Married schoolteacher, Mary Nex^all, who died in 1812. Benjamin was bom in Virginia in 1750, and died in Washington Co., Mo., in 1808. Lived Fayette Co., Pa., and Cynthiana, Ky. Retired with rank of Major from the Revolutionary War. Settled in Bourbon Co., Ky., and was a delegate at Danville v^/hen the Constitution of Kentucky formed Harrison Co., Ky., which is named for him. Benjamin, along with his brothers, Lawrence and William, surveyed Cynthiana, Ky., and New Madrid, Mo. Children: (a) Robert - Bom about 1769 in Fayette Co., Pa., and killed at River Raisin, War of 1812. Married Isabell Hodges in 1806. Isabell later married William McCall. Four daughters and one son, Joseph^ by Robert Harrison. (b) VJilliam - Bom 1781, in Pennsylvania and accompanied parents to Missouri in 1802 and settled in Crawford Co., Mo. Married in 1798 to Nancy Ann Miller of Cynthiana, Ky. Nine sons and two daughters . (c) Mary - Married Charles C. Swan. (d) Jane - Married in 1795, William Hinkston of Cynthiana, Ky., and jBoved to. Missouri with parents. (e) Julian. (f) Lawrence - Moved to Missouri x7ith parents. (g) Battaile - Bom 1780 at Sv/eet Briar, Amherst Co., Va. Died Fayette Co., Ohio, 1857. Did not go with parents to Missouri simply because he had measles and V7as ill. He was left with his Uncle William who raised him. He was an attorney and Adjutant General of Belmont Co., Ohio. Battaile served in the War of 1812, with William Henry Harrison, President of the United States, and they became close friends. He m.arried Elizabeth Scott and had six children. One son, Scott, was father of Dr. William Harrison. President William Henry Harrison named one of his sons John Scott. (h) Catherine - Married Andrev/ Miller. (i) Aristides - Lived in Washington Co., Mo. Married Catherine Litton on 2/12/1831. He was an officer during and after the Revolutionary War. (C) Battaile - Married Frances Tinsley, daughter of John Tinsley on 11/17/1792.

ANDREW HARRISON -Died 1752. (Continued) Children: 2. Laxi7rence - Married Catherine. (Continued) (D) William - Lived in Tyrone To\7nship, Fayette Co., Pa. Married Sarah Crawford, daughter of Col. William Crawford. William attained the rank of Major in the Revolutionary Army. In 1782, Col. Cravjford led troops against the Wyandotte and Moravian Indians. Major William Harrison served with him. Col. Crawford was killed and William was burned at the stake by the Indians. Thus Sarah lost her husband and father in one encounter. William and Sarah had at least one daughter, Sally, who married Peter Journey. Sally and Peter Journey had at least one daughter, Nancy, v7ho married Daniel McKinnori . (E) La^,;rence, Jr. - Bom in Virginia. Died 11/12/1833, in Urbana, Ohio. He was a Lieutenant in the Revolutionary Army and made trips down the Mississippi to New Orleans for gunpowder. Lawrence lived in Kentucky for a time and married Mary Allison of Bourbon Co., Ky., on 2/19/1788. Mary was bom on 2/24/1769 and was the daughter of Charles Allison who died on 10/10/1787. Children: (a) Charles - Born 11/21/1788. (b) Benjamin - Born 5/5/1791, died 2/5/1796. (c) Francena - Bom 12/21/1795, died 5/15/1831. (d) William Battailc - Bom 9/27/1796. He lived in Campbell Co., Ky., in 1851. (e) John - Bom 5/21/1798. Lived in Cass Co., Ind., in 1851. (f) Catty Griffin - Bom 11/8/1801, Married Robert Ellis of Logan Co., Ind. (g) Reuben Campbell - Bom 2/2/1805. Lived Miami Co., Ind. (h) Medford - Born 11/18/1808, died 7/22/1822. (i) Mary - Bom 7/2/1812, died 7/30/1832. (F) Elizabeth - Married John Dawson, son of George Dawson of Brownville, Pa. Lived in Urbana, Ohio. Nine children; five sons and four daughters . (G) Mary - Bom 1761, died 2/7/1836. Married Captain Thomas L. Moore, son of John Moore of Ireland. Thomas was bom in Kent Co., Md., in 1745, and died 10/20/1823, in Harrison Co., Ky. He x^as buried with Mary at Pointdexter Village near Cynthiana, Ky. Thomas was a First Lieutenant in Captain Benjamin Harrison's 13th Virginia Regiment and, subsequently was made Captain under Cols. William Russell and John Gibson. A knovTuson was Benjamin Moore. There may have been another son, Thomas Moore, Jr., who married Sarah Lillard of Kentucky . 3. BATTAILa HARRISON - -Married Frances I'Jhite. 4. John - Married Sarah Daniel and lived in St. Thomas Parish, Orange Co., Va. Died in 1762-3 in Culpepper Co., Va. John probably moved North to Pennsylvania with his brothers when the inducement of land was offered there. Children: James, John (married Nancy Greer), Andrew, Richard, Isham, Mary, Martha, Elizabeth (married Richard Daniel), Ann (married William Daniel) . There may have been another son, William^ v/ho married sisters Letty and Rebecca Greer, daughters of Samuel Greer of Nelson Co., Ky.
