Alice Viretta Stump, eldest daughter of Jas. and Harriet Stump, was born in Liberty twp., Jefferson co., on October 26, 1872, and died at her home near Libertyville, December 8, 1912, aged forty years, one month, and twelve days, all her life being spent in Jefferson and Van Buren counties. She was married to Edward C Creek, February 22, 1893. To this union was born five children - Rolla, John, Hazel, Raymond, and Van. She leaves to mourn, her husband and children, her aged father and mother, five brothers and one sister, one sister having died in infancy. She was converted and united with the Union M.P. Church in early womanhood and lived a consistent, faithful, and christian life. Mrs. Creek was a very affectionate wife and mother, a kind and faithful friend and will be greatly missed in the home and community where nearly all her life was spent.
