Alexander DUNLOP, 5th. of that Ilk. Born in about 1371 in Dunlop, Ayrshire, Scotland, Alexander died in about 1446; he was at least 75 years of age. Occupation: 5th. of that Ilk. In about 1402, when Alexander was about 31, he married Ellen (Helen) CUNYNGHAME of Kilmaurs, daughter of Sir Robert (Cuthbert) CUNYNGHAME, Lord of Kilmaurs & Anne (Agnes) de MONTGOMERIE of Eglinton. They had one child: John (~1403-~1476)

The dates and places of birth and death mentioned here are entirely speculative, and potentially misleading. Alexander's occupation is given as "of that Ilk" but this was not his occupation. It was the territorial title that identified him as the heritable proprietor of the lands of Dunlop. He was Alexander Dunlop of that Ilk.
