Alexander 'Ciar' Mackintosh of Rothiemurcus

• Born circa 1400.1 He was the son of James Mackintosh of Rothiemurcus and unknown daughter Grant.
• Married unknown daughter Stewart, daughter of unknown Stewart of Kincardine.
• Died in 1495.
• He was forced to leave Rothiemurchus by attack from the Comyns, going to friends in Strathardle in Perthshire.
• 5th Chief of the Clan Shaw from in 1411
• He later returned and recovered his inheritance by slaying the Comyns near Loch Pityoulish at a place called Lag-na-Cuminich.1424 at a spot called Lag-na-Cuminich.
• On 4 September 1469 he acquired feu of Rothiemurchus from Duncan, 12th of Clan Chattan, confirmed by Bishop Moray.
